The Networks: Executives

Created by Gil Hova

So you’ve proven your worth in the past. We know you can run an ordinary TV network. Big deal. We have a bigger challenge for you. Here are 12 unique Network Executives, each with their own weird characteristics. Every Executive has powers, but they also have significant liabilities. Can you master each Executive’s idiosyncrasies, draft the best Season 0 cards, claim your true status as a Mogul, and come out on top? The Networks: Executives is an expansion to the hit board game The Networks. You must have the base game The Networks in order to play it.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

The Rival Networks is on Kickstarter right now!

Hi Executives backer! I hope you've been enjoying the expansion.

Today, we launch the next chapter in The Networks' saga: The Rival Networks, a streamlined 2-player version of The Networks that plays in about 30-45 minutes. I've been working on this game for a couple of years, and I think it's come out incredibly well.

Plus, in this version of the game, Viewers are tracked on physical chips, which you store in these adorable coin banks shaped like little houses! How cool is that?

Please join me in this new campaign, and let's put more Networks out into the world!

Two more things...

I should know better than to post an update saying "this will be my final update..." :p

Please nominate The Networks: Executives as Best Expansion in the Golden Geeks!

The Golden Geeks are the annual awards given out by BoardGameGeek, and I'd love to see The Networks: Executives in the running! It would be eligible for the Best Expansion category.

If you're a regular BGG user, you are eligible to vote. Instructions on voting are here.

(And while you're there, please consider nominating my podcast Ludology as Best Podcast!)

High Rise is back on Kickstarter!

In my previous "final update," I pointed you all to my new game High Rise. I canceled that Kickstarter after a day, because I got a lot of feedback that the price was too high.

I've put the game back on Kickstarter, at a much more digestible $59 pledge level (plus shipping). The game still looks and plays amazing.

We had a really good first day, but the past few days have honestly been slower than expected. We're on track to fund, but I have some amazing stretch goals planned, and it would be a shame to not reach them.

Please check out High Rise, and let me know what you think.

Thank you!

This road is ending, another road is beginning...

Hi folks,

At this point, I'd say 99% of you have received your copy of The Networks: Executives. I hope you have already gotten a chance to try it and enjoy it! For those of you who have been "lucky" enough to deal with the odd shipping issue, thank you for your patience!

I'm really happy with how Executives came out, and with all the variability, replayability, and depth that it adds to The Networks. I hope to support this game for a long time.

This will be the final update for this campaign for a while. I may post here someday if/when we bring another Networks expansion to Kickstarter, but I will have no more major updates, now that the game is in almost everyone's hands.

But it's time to unveil a new face in the Formal Ferret game lineup. I'd like you all to meet High Rise, my newest game that just launched on Kickstarter! High Rise is going to be my biggest game yet, with over 300 plastic stackable components. It will feature art by Kwanchai Moria, and Heiko Günther will return to work on the game's graphic design.

I've been working on this game regularly since April 2017, and I'm thrilled to finally bring it out. I hope to see you on the top floor!

Shipping update: Canada in progress, Asia FINALLY started
over 5 years ago – Thu, Oct 18, 2018 at 03:10:19 PM

Hi Networks backer! Here is where we stand with shipping.

USA: Shipping is effectively complete here, other than a few resends. If your game hasn't arrived by now and we aren't in touch yet, please message me!

UK/EU: The fulfillment center sent everything out last week; however, some regional postal systems are better than others, and some backers are still awaiting their games. If we aren't already in touch, let me know if you haven't gotten your game yet, and we can make a decision on how to proceed.

Canada: The good news - Canadian backers are starting to receive their game. The bad news - there is a possible postal strike happening as early as Monday. Obviously, this is completely out of our control. It sounds like shipments will not cease during a strike, so they will slow. So if you don't get your games by Monday and the strike happens, we will likely have to wait it out.

Asia: Fulfillment has finally begun! When I was planning this months ago, I had no idea that Asian fulfillment would start after the game's scheduled street date. The games should leave of the fulfillment center today, so I'd expect them to start arriving within the next week.

My apologies for the delay! This took a lot longer than I expected.

Australia/NZ: Shipping should be complete, and you should have your games. Please let me know if that's not the case!

Rest of World: The fulfillment center sent everything out last week; however, some regional postal systems are better than others, and some backers are still awaiting their games. If we aren't already in touch, let me know if you haven't gotten your game yet, and we can make a decision on how to proceed.

Essen is coming up!

I will be at SPIEL '18 in Essen, Germany next week! I'll be at booth 2-E102. I may personally be busy or in a meeting, but my staff will be happy to answer questions and help you.

If you'll be at Essen, your games haven't arrived yet, and you want to pick up your games there, message me directly before Monday and we can work something out.

I fly out to Germany on Monday, October 22, and I return on Monday, October 29. During that time, my replies to messages and comments will be delayed. Please don't think I'm ignoring you; I'll just be hip-deep in convention stuff!

Sign up for my mailing list!

If you want to know about my next projects, or what conventions I'll be at next, please sign up for my mailing list! I only send out an email once a month, and it's a great way to know what's coming next from Formal Ferret Games.

Reminder - if you have the game, please talk about it!

For those of you who have received the game, please talk about it on social media, and rate it on BoardGameGeek! I would really appreciate that.

Thanks so much to everyone for their help and patience here! This has been my most complex project, logistically speaking, and I genuinely appreciate everyone's generosity here in making Networks: Executives happen.

Shipping update: Canada in progress, Asia starting next week!
over 5 years ago – Sat, Oct 13, 2018 at 01:26:08 AM

Hi Networks backer, we're finally starting to wind down Executives shipping! I'm so glad you're starting to receive your games.

Here's the region-by-region update:

USA/UK/EU: If your game hasn't arrived by now and we aren't in touch yet, please message me!

Canada: Fulfillment should be in progress. If you don't receive your games by next Friday, please message me!

Asia: Our Chinese fulfiller is behind schedule; I guess last week's holiday didn't do us any favors! They should be able to start shipping our games out by the middle of next week.

Australia/NZ: Shipping is winding down. If you don't receive your games by next Wednesday, please message me!

Rest of Word: If your game hasn't arrived by now and we haven't been in touch, please message me!.

If your game has arrived, I have a few things to ask of you:

  • If there's anything missing or broken, please message me! I'll do everything I can to make it right.
  • Play the game! If I've done my job well, you'll want to play it again. :)
  • Rate the base game (if you haven't already) and the Executives expansion on BoardGameGeek!
  • Talk about the game on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and any other online platforms you frequent.

And, if you'll be in Essen for SPIEL '18, come by and say hello! I'll be at booth 2E-102.

I'll post another update next week as we get closer to wrapping up fulfillment everywhere.

Thanks!
